VERBAL REPORTS - WHY YOU SHOULDN'T GET A VERBAL REPORT
- Any building inspector who is doing verbal reports will not have Professional Indeminity Insurance. This means you have no come back if the inspector misses something.
- Any building inspector who is doing verbal reports will not be following or abiding by The New Zealand Standard for House Inspections. Verbal reports are not allowed.
- If the building inspector does a verbal report and gets it wrong, it is your word against theirs. It is very hard to prove if a mistake was made or if any information was missed out or you were misled.
- A cheap verbal report is just that - cheap and not worth anything if things go wrong.
- A verbal report is a good way for a building inspector to make easy money fast with no consequences.
.- Anybody can do a house inspection, the industry is unregulated just like the building industry used to be - do you really want a plasterer/roofer/airplane mechanic or an untrained and unqualified person doing your buiding inspection. These are the people doing verbal reports cheap and fast.
